E. Payne

I'm a man, a dad, and a husband. I love my wife. I love my life. Most days I wear it all like an "S" on my chest, but sometimes, it all just Makes Me Wanna Holler! I talk and write about fatherhood, family life, relationships, inspirational matters and cars (yes, cars).

I blog about my life in the dad & husband lane at Makes Me Wanna Holler. I write about my love for all things New York City and nearby at NYMetropolista.com, and I am a contributing writer at BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com as well as J'Adore Magazine. At the end of 2009, I served as a panelist during a month-long online discussion on fatherhood and married life. It was an amazing experience that crossed racial, ethnic, geographic and social lines to cut at the heart of the matter: how best to be successful husbands and fathers. You can read more about it here.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, I’ve been living in New York since 1994 after finishing grad school in upstate New York. No matter the twists and turns my life has taken since then, I've always had a pen in my hand. My short stories and poetry have appeared in Papyrus, Anansi: Fiction of the African Diaspora, Spindle Magazine, Diddle Dog Magazine, Six Sentences, The Shine Literary Journal. In 2001, I published, I See Through Eyes, a book of poetry and short stories.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you'll visit often as I add hubs.
